How MSRX WeatherWatch scores hazards

MSRX WeatherWatch runs 15 independent hazard engines. Each one answers a single question — is there an elevated earthquake, flood, heatwave, air-quality, UV, or storm risk at this location right now? — and each one is deliberately simple and auditable.

Thresholds, not opinions

Every engine maps a verified numeric input to a severity band using published thresholds. For UV, we use the World Health Organization UV Index categories. For heat and cold, we use temperature bands. For earthquakes, magnitude and distance. The AI layer is never involved in deciding severity.

This means two people looking at the same location see the same rating, and the rating can always be traced back to a number and its source.

Where the numbers come from

Inputs come only from authoritative providers: Open-Meteo for weather, air quality and UV; the USGS Earthquake Hazards Program for seismicity; GDACS for global disaster alerts; and NASA FIRMS for active fires. We do not synthesize or estimate the underlying measurements.
