With no detections, day-to-day risk is low; in fire season keep defensible space around property and know two exit routes.

Beyond the range

Nearby fire brings ember showers that ignite buildings ahead of the fire front, and smoke that drops air quality to hazardous within hours. Late evacuation is the leading cause of wildfire fatalities — roads clog and visibility collapses.

Precautions

  • Follow official evacuation orders immediately — do not wait to see flames.
  • Prepare a go-bag and keep vehicles fuelled during fire weather.
  • Clear leaves and flammables 10 m around structures before the season.
